Zinfra Apprentice and Trainee Awards - 2017

On 10 May we held our annual Apprentice and Trainee Awards dinner, now in its 5th year, to celebrate Zinfra’s outstanding apprentices and trainees.

Held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the awards recognise excellence and reward those who have made a significant contribution and a real difference to the organisation. An excellent and entertaining MC, Nigel, made the night fun and enjoyable for all and Stan Alves, an ex-AFL coach, provided a great motivational speech.

Congratulations to our award winners:

  • Brendan Hartup - Outstanding 2nd Year Apprentice and Apprentice of the Year
  • Daniel Stoios - Outstanding 3rd Year Apprentice
  • Daniel Williams, Jack McCann and Paul Van Lambaart – triple-tied winners for the Outstanding 4th Year Apprentice
  • Angus Wishart - Safety First award
  • Benjamin Grant - Overall Encouragement award
  • Brendan Byrne - Excellence in Mentoring award.

Compliments to our graduated apprentices: Daniel Williams, Jack McCann, Jamie Parker, Luke McCoy, Nicholas Pluminers, Paul Van Lambaart, Sam Jones, Sam Van Brecht, Scott De Jong, Stewart Bell, Temson Perera, Trevor Norton, William Stewart, Wayne Cronjaeger. We wish you well as your career progresses.

A huge 'shout-out' to Betty Hui, Apprentice & RTO Coordinator, for all her efforts managing the apprentice program and for being the chief organiser of the awards process and the celebratory night. Betty’s comment on the night clearly demonstrates her passion for the program and its participants, “The speeches made by our apprentices made me proud to be a Zinfra employee.”

Congratulations to each and every one of the award winners and to all of the nominees. We are truly proud of all our apprentices, and the night’s winners and finalists are all potential future leaders!
